Comparing the ZenGrip Ronin Mythic Edition and ZenGrip Pro Standalone Elite Grip Case for Switch. Find out which ergonomic grip fits your play style, cooling needs, and budget.
Quick answer
Choose the ZenGrip Ronin Mythic Edition if you want the latest Free Float Technology for cooler, scuff-free handheld play on OLED or original Switch. Pick the ZenGrip Pro Standalone Elite Grip Case if you prefer a dedicated protective case that works with your existing ZenGrip Pro and accessories.
Cooling and scuff prevention vs. dedicated protection
The ZenGrip Ronin Mythic Edition introduces Satisfye's new Free Float Technology, which keeps your Switch cooler during long sessions and prevents scuffs by avoiding direct contact with the console. This design is ideal for players who prioritize airflow and want to keep their device pristine without adding bulk.
In contrast, the ZenGrip Pro Standalone Elite Grip Case is built as a protective case that houses your ZenGrip Pro (sold separately). It offers a snug, all-around shield for your Switch, making it a better choice if you frequently travel or need a case that doubles as a grip mount. However, it does not include the Free Float cooling feature.
Compatibility and included accessories
The ZenGrip Ronin Mythic Edition is designed for both OLED and original Switch models, with a 'Perfect Fit' optimization. It can be purchased with or without the Mythic Edition ZenCase Slim, giving you flexibility if you already own a case.
The ZenGrip Pro Standalone Elite Grip Case is specifically for the ZenGrip Pro grip (sold separately) and is compatible with Nintendo Switch. It does not include the grip itself, so you need to factor that into your total cost. This makes it a more modular option for those who already own a ZenGrip Pro.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Cooling and scuff protection: ZenGrip Ronin Mythic Edition has Free Float Technology; ZenGrip Pro Standalone Elite does not. If heat or scuffs bother you, the Ronin is the clear winner.
