Quick answer
The RYZEPADS Notch Set for PlayStation controllers is designed to reduce thumb fatigue and improve precision. This FAQ covers the most common questions about installation, compatibility, and maintenance.
Why choose the Notch Set over other RYZEPADS styles?
The Notch Set features a groove that cradles your thumbstick, providing a consistent contact point. This can help reduce the need for constant micro-adjustments during gameplay, potentially lowering thumb strain.
If you prefer a more defined thumb placement and a tactile feel, the Notch Set is a solid choice. For those who want a smoother, swiveling action, the Swivel Set might be a better fit.
Frequently asked questions
- Will the Notch Set fit my PlayStation 5 controller?
- Yes, the RYZEPADS Notch Set is compatible with both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 controllers. The thumbpads are designed to fit the standard thumbstick dimensions of these consoles.
- How do I install the Notch Set?
- Installation is straightforward: clean your thumbsticks with a dry cloth, align the notch pad over the thumbstick, and press down firmly until it snaps into place. Ensure the groove is oriented toward your thumb for best ergonomics. The pads are removable and reusable, so you can reposition them if needed.
- Do the Notch Pads affect controller grip or case fit?
- The Notch Set adds minimal height to the thumbsticks, so most standard controller grips and carrying cases should still fit. However, if you use a very tight case, double-check clearance before storing.
- How do I clean and maintain the Notch Set?
- Wipe the pads with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Avoid soaking them in water or using harsh chemicals. Let them air dry completely before reattaching. Regular cleaning helps maintain grip and prevents buildup of oils or dust.
- Can I use the Notch Set with other RYZEPADS products?
- The Notch Set is designed to be used on its own. It does not attach to or stack with other RYZEPADS styles like the Swivel or Wave sets. Choose the style that best suits your preferred thumb movement.
